Third Man Records is the imprint on which Jack White releases all of his music including The White Stripes and The Raconteurs, as well as his most recent rock outfit, The Dead Weather.
Third Man Records are proud to announce the release of three new 7" singles produced by Jack White.
1st--
Dead Weather “Treat Me Like Your Mother” b/w “You Just Can't Win” 7''
b-side track is EXCLUSIVE to this 7" release and will not be on the album and is a cover version of the classic by Them, written by Van Morrison
The Dead Weather rock and roll juggernaut is more amplified terror riffing and slithery vocals. Alison Mosshart (the Kills) spits polite venom while Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) lurches on a twisted guitar/organ spell. The stuttered back-beat courtesy of Jack White (the White Stripes) locks down with bombastic bass from Jack Lawrence (the Raconteurs) and the end result is quite likely the breakout hit of the summer of 2009. B-side is exclusive to the release and is a brooding cover of Them’s forgotten “You Just Can’t Win” penned by pre-solo fame Van Morrison that finds White taking lead vocal duties and accurately replicating Van’s forlorn delivery.
2nd--
Mildred & The Mice“I Like My Mice (Dead)” b/w “Spiderbite” 7'' Mysterious goth milquetoast 'Mildred' appeared before Jack White at a hardware store in Kentucky. She had no demo to give, nor guitar with her, so instead she sang her song 'I Like My Mice (Dead)' at the top of her lungs in front of several hardware store customers before quickly walking out of the store in shy earnest. Mr. White immediately followed her to the sidewalk and signed her to a Third Man single contract. She hails from the Mammoth Cave area, but hasn’t given the staff an age, or current address! In fact, her mother dropped her off at Third Man studio for the single session and waited patiently in a Winnebago outside the studio until Mildred was done recording. Mildred showed up with a very cool Gretsch Princess guitar but called it a 'Gitch'. Her band The Mice were even less forthcoming than she was, asking only for a copy of the record when it was done.
3rd--
